Jonathan Lyons is a native of Ponchatoula, LA. Jonathan continued a family tradition in music by pursuing a career in music. A graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University, Mr. Lyons is continually pursuing excellence as an educator and performer. Jonathan is a recipient of the LAJE Outstanding Jazz Educator and LMEA Young Educator of the Year award. He has also served as a guest clinician for Parishes and Districts throughout Louisiana. 

As a saxophonist, Jonathan is a frequently performing and recording musician in the New Orleans, Baton Rouge, and Gulf South Region and has performed with internationally acclaimed artists including The Temptations, Marc Broussard, and Marcus Printup of The Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra. Jonathan is also member of MoJEAUX, New Orleans' premier variety band. 

Jonathan currently serves as Band Director at Mandeville Junior High School and Director of Jazz at Mandeville High School. He resides in Hammond, Louisiana, with his wife Sarah and children, Eliza and Parker.
